Sermon for Good Friday - Tenebrae Vespers

Apr 7, 2023    Rev. Christopher Antonetti

God regards those who are humble before them. Those who are most in need and call upon Him, he wants to know more and more closely. Those who set themselves up as great, he generally ignores. This is the opposite of how you usually think. You like to think that God is close to you if you are successful, and far when you struggle. The fear of the powerful in this world is compounded by thinking good times means good relations with God, and struggle and being humbled means God is angry with you.
